Introducing BAS Ready - taking the stress out of BAS time!

Before the idea of BAS Ready was born, there was a simple frustration that every time the quarterly BAS for clients were due, it was impossible to know which Xero client accounts were up to date and which were a mess.

Only a few clients would let you know when they had their accounts up to date, and the rest would think you magically knew when it was ready to go. It was taking more time to chase clients to get their accounts up to date than it was to complete the work.

The team at BAS Ready decided to find a way to relieve this pain point, with a focus on making it as simple and stress free as possible to use.

In order to get started, all you need to do is connect your Xero clients in bulk and within minutes you’ll have a simple dashboard showing all of the critical data for each monthly and quarterly BAS Period.

From the dashboard you can see:

• Unreconciled Bank Transactions
• Unreconciled Account Transactions (spend money/receive money/bills/sales marked as paid from the bank but not matched to an actual bank transaction)
• PAYG Withholding from payroll and comparing to the Balance Sheet account balance
• Wages Payable – to confirm if employees have been paid correctly
• Superannuation Payable vs Superannuation Accrued – to confirm if Superannuation has been paid on time each quarter, by comparing the Balance Sheet account to what has been accrued through payroll
• Last Payrun Posted – to confirm if payroll is up to date
• GST Balance – from the Balance Sheet account on a Cash or Accrual basis
• Status – whether the files are ready to start on, or whether the client needs prompting to bring the accounts up to date

If clients need prompting to get their bank accounts reconciled or payroll up to date, you can easily bulk email them from the app with a gentle reminder, including the ability to let them know how many transactions there are left to reconcile. The email can be configured to send automatically each month, or you can choose specific clients to send a reminder to at any time.
 
Whilst using BAS Ready will definitely save time preparing the BAS, it's also very useful to keep on top of issues with bank reconciliation and payroll throughout the year, before they become bigger issues.
 
Some firms also prefer to use it to monitor the progress of each clients accounts as of the current date, including monitoring whether bookkeeping staff are keeping up to date with transactions and payroll. Using the tags feature, you can filter the table by creating custom tags and applying them to your clients.
